Treiso and Alba
Rizzi

If we limit ourselves to the best exposed areas, and therefore most favourable to Nebbiolo (in the foreground of the first two images), the Rizzi MGA can be divided into two different sectors. The first, which develops immediately below the dotted yellow line (i.e. the boundary between the communes of Alba and Treiso), can be seen as the extension of MGA Nervo and has in Vigna Fratin its best-known part. The second sector, which lies above the dotted line, includes within it the vineyards of the Boito farmstead, which, despite a gradual westward rotation of the hillside, are traditionally considered among the most significant in the entire commune of Treiso (and today are largely delimited as Vigna Boito). The wines of this MGA, both in one area and the other, are often less structured than one might expect, but on the other hand they just as often express a refined underlying classicism.

Menzioni Vigna: Boito, Vigna Fratin.
