Rio Sordo

Barbaresco
Rio Sordo

The ridge of Rio Sordo, which rises from the hamlet of Rio Sordo towards the Cascina Bruciata estate, has enjoyed a good reputation for a certain period of time, in particular the vineyard parcels near the summit of the best-exposed sloped, bathed in sunlight from the very first hour of the day. The plots near the Cascina Bruciata estate are in cooler positions, but nonetheless have been well considered ever since the end of the 19th century. As far as style is concerned, the wines of Rio Sordo can be considered a kind of halfway house between Asili and Rabajà, a bit warmer in the case of wines from the southfacing slopes and more mineral in the case of the wines from the sector around the Cascina Bruciata estate.
