Barbaresco
Montestefano

Virtually identical to Montefico in terms of positions, exposures and elevation, Montestefano is without a shadow of doubt a classic of the denomination (it was no coincidence that it was the first cru of Barbaresco to be vinified pure and named on the label in 1961). Although noted for Barbaresco of solid structure and explicit austerity (in most cases), from certain vintages some producers are able to attain smooth elegance, while never matching the delicacy of nearby Montefico.
