Montersino

Although the area extends almost to the hamlet of Canta (Cascina Reiso), following a steep and tortuous but generally well exposed slope, for now the most developed part is situated near the Cascina Montersino, namesake of the MGA. The evident diversity among the various slopes – cooler and gentler those facing Rocche Massalupo; steeper, warmer and brighter the opposite – combined with differences in altitudes account for natural divergences in the wines. Add to that differences in philosophies and styles among winemakers and it’s practically impossible to trace an overall sensory profile of the wines of this MGA. Wines currently on the market range through varying degrees of smoothness, substance and fruit.
