Faset

Faset is one of the best-known MGAs of the entire denomination, with an articulated surface that extends from the Bricco of the same name (near the Tanaro river) to the border with Asili, passing through the Cascina Faset. The large central basin facing south, shared in part with the Pora MGA, is the most favored, even if exposures vary considerably between the Cascina and Bricco Faset. The part overlooking the Tanaro river is cooler, as is the slope facing the town of Barbaresco, but there are some valued vineyards there. The Barbaresco of Faset usually has good structure, often marked by rough tannins, and a less refined aromatic spectrum than the wines of Asili. Anyway, that was the case until some new interpretations revealed a more floral and elegant side.
