Cavanna

Easily visible only form the Tanaro river valley, and in a small part from the road which goes towards Secondine, this small MGA is located exactly at the foot of the castle of Barbaresco and, more in general, the inhabited center of the township. Its rather pronounced concave shape, however, produces drastic changes of exposure from one side to the other, to the point that good positions for Nebbiolo are limited to the upper middle parcels of the vineyard, whose exposures range from west to southwest. According to tradition, the wines which are produced are substantial and with an earthy tannin which needs time to round off.
