Basarin

Unlike the northern slope of the massive hill of San Cristoforo, which is split among numerous MGAs, the southern slope is almost totally occupied by Basarin. This majestic and fascinating slope begins at the hamlet of Zocco and ends at the village of Tre Stelle, passing first through the historic nucleus of the cru (which dominates the hamlet of Moretta), and finally Vigna Gianmaté . But the appearances deceive, as the Barbaresco of Basarin, particularly in the central sector, is distinguished not by its structure but by its balance and focus which, in the better bottles, add a pleasant mineral touch. The Barbaresco produced near the village of Tre Stelle are instead more solid and concentrated.
Menzioni Vigna: Gianmatè, Moretta.
