Balluri

Moving northeastwards from Albesani, the first MGA to be encountered is Balluri, characterized by a long ridge line which descends from Brich Mondino towards the Tanaro river. The contours of the hill, the range of altitudes, and the varying exposures combine, however, in a landscape more similar to Starderi, even if the only occasional tastings of the wines – which are generally rather elegant – do not allow any further generalizations. It is easy, nonetheless, to conclude that the part which turns towards Albesani is fully capable of producing fine Nebbiolo, particularly in the sector between Balluri sottani and the ridge top of Bordini.
