San Stunet

Treiso and Alba
San Stunet

Divided as it is by the imaginary line which separates the Northern from the Southern Sector of Treiso, San Stunet features what might be called a split personality. On one side there is the steep, sunny, and impressive slope of the Tolino farmstead, dominated by the small chapel of San Stefanetto (San Stunet). On the other side is the nucleus of vineyards which surrounds the Pelissero estate, cooler on the side towards Castellizzano, and warmer on the other side, where Nebbiolo is a more important presence. In stylistic terms, the wines from the first sector (Pelissero and Piero Busso) have greater depth and articulation and a tannic texture which is very flavorful, one completely in line with the exposure and the quality of the soil.
