Roncaglie

Located just to the south of Roncagliette and sharing to a great extent its conformation – at least in its best exposed positions – the Roncaglie MGA is considered one of the most prestigious of Barbaresco. Though only occasionally vinified as single vineyard wines before the advent of Poderi Colla in 1994, the grapes of the best plots of Roncaglie had always been sought out by brokers working for large wineries. The wines of Roncaglie are usually less substantial than those from the warmer plots of Roncagliette, but they are distinguished by classic tannins and aromas.
