Meruzzano

Treiso and Alba
Meruzzano

Meruzzano is by far the largest MGA of Treiso and the second in size of the entire Barbaresco zone after Canova of Neive. As such its vineyards vary considerably in conditions, ranging from Cappelletto and environs with almost extreme altitudes for Nebbiolo to the lower lying Camairano, Castellengo and Cascina Borsa. In the between are the vineyards of the hamlet of Meruzzano (or Mervisano), with favorable conditions of altitude and exposure expressed in some of the most compact and vigorous wines of the southern part of the commune. The Barbaresco of Camairano is more linear, mineral and definitive in style.
