Treiso and Alba
Giacosa

Situated at the top of the ridge that ascends from Roccalini of Barbaresco toward Treiso (passing through Roncagliette, Roncaglie, Montaribaldi, Pajorè and Marcarini), the Giacosa MGA also boasts very respectable positions, at least in the area of vineyards facing Bricco di Treiso (and above the Casot MGA). However, the higher parts of the vineyards are cooler due to greater altitude, so it is not by chance that a major portion of them is planted with Chardonnay. Compared with Marcarini or Casot, the Barbaresco of the Giacosa MGA generally has a bit more fruit and body.
