barbaresco
Ferrere

Used only very recently on a Barbaresco label (even though the grapes were already being fermented on their own in the 1970’s and 1980’s by Sergio Vezza), this MGA occupies a good part of the same slopes as Castellizzano, but with an exposure sligthly turned towards the west, at least in the part most suitable for Nebbiolo. Like Castellizzano, Ferrere also produces wines of good structure (certain more than its apparent potential would suggest), although less brilliant and dynamic.
