Castellizzano

Situated right in front of the Basarin MGA, but characterized by less steep slopes, the Castellizzano MGA can boast of a significant tradition of Nebbiolo for Barbaresco wines, even if the exposure is not among the warmest ones. But despite this fact, and as the Barbaresco Castellizzano of the Cantina Pertinace winery has often demonstrated, the cru can give interesting wines in terms of freshness and character, although with a certain austerity which only time – and only partially – can temper.
