Albesani

Extending along the ridge that runs almost parallel to the hills of Gallina and Balluri, the Albesani MGA is much better known and prestigious than the name suggests, since until recently it was rarely used. Within it, and precisely in its central part, lies the area of Santo Stefano, one of the most renowned vineyards of the Langhe with a perfect combination of soils, altitude and exposure. A vineyard – like Gallina, though with a different style – whose austere Nebbiolos are closer in character to those of the best positions of Barbaresco than to others produced in the commune of Neive. Also noteworthy are the vineyards located at both ends of the MGA, and in particular those between Cascina Borgese and the hamlet of Bricchetto (third image), today officially delimited in part as Vigna Borgese.
Menzioni Vigna: Borgese, Santo Stefano.
